Monthly Clinics

Every month, in conjunction with the COM-T, undergraduates and medical students hold a free and anonymous clinic for community members. Currently, we are located behind Z Mansion, and clinics happen at 5pm on a specified Monday once a month. A primary doctor or attending physician will oversee patients along with our team of nurses and other medical professionals. SMT general members who are certified in vitals training and CPR are allowed to take vitals of patients before they enter the clinic to get seen. We also hand out CRA bags at this time, specifically to those in the downtown area.

Community Ride-alongs

We collect food, clothing, and basic hygiene and health amenities and compile them into care packages. Then, each month we hand out the packages during our monthly clinic. Any and all members are allowed to help with CRA’s and will usually walk around the surrounding areas to offer these items.

z-mansion

Every Sunday, our members volunteer and team up with Z-Mansion, owned by Reverend Thomas Langdon Hill. Hill oversees a medical facility and resting area for the homeless within Z-Mansion, both of which we volunteer in. Z Mansion is open for volunteers Thursday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and work can range from prepping food in the kitchen, handing out clothes and water, giving out meals, medically caring for patients in the clinic, or simply conversing with everyone.

Chemistry Reviews

Once a semester during finals week, our members lead a comprehensive review for the General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry final exams. This event allows our members to take on leadership responsibilities, help other students at the University, and develop social and interpersonal skills. The reviews consist of American Chemical Society questions that are based on the final exam format the students will see on the exam as well as a focus on important topics emphasized by the professors of the courses.
